Aetna Health Plans wins New York state capitation cases
Aetna Health Plans’ shift to capitation was vindicated by two New York state court decisions. The first decided in favor of Aetna against 20 Long Island, NY anesthesiologists who filed suit claiming Aetna’s new capitation policy would be detrimental to patient care and violated U.S. antitrust laws. The second decided in favor of Aetna against Ms. Mara Maltz who had sought an injunction that would prevent Aetna from changing obtaining physician contracts. (more…)
